North West is the Lussa City, North East is one of many of Venus’s strongholds. Everywhere was sandy and cool, normal for the Underside. Here is the town. Once an abandoned by the dwarves, now a living, but not breathing, town. Well, some were breathing. One of those l was a visitor, Azure the biologist. She had come for the wildlife but only found these celestial beings. Zombies, whatever.
She packed her bags, disappointed. Azure was hoping she had found an underside strain of Metch, but it was just these zombies, creations of the Servant of Death. The dwarfs seemed to think nothing of this place. A small unimportant town, don’t visit it unless you’re invited. That’s what people said. Celestials don’t need to eat if their Servant is giving them power. But he did. The man running the show, the mayor.
This part of the Underside didn’t have a lot of towns. Just the Lussa City, here, and a more modern dwarf settlement to the south. It was said that if you went far enough north you would encounter the angel beasts, or the feral enchantress race, the half celestials. She would have to research them with a mercenary team, but that would be later. It seemed the mayor got his basic necessities from the dwarves in exchange for his rare minerals.
He was nice enough, especially since she had no political or military power. Just medicine. It seemed Dysix the mayor did need supplies, and what he got from the dwarves was very basic. Azure traded all sorts of things she considered basic but that he had to make long trips to acquire. What she got in exchange was simply a place to stay and free reign to explore the town, apart from the mansion.
There was a reason that the Lussa City kept away though. The now deceased King had thought of them as an ally for a long time. But then, when Venus had targeted him, he was left to die. The King’s death had two to blame now, but Prince Salt would have nothing to do with it. He banned all travel to the zombie village, except by royal decree. The current King… The youngest daughter, she wasn’t worried. But maybe she should be. Azure sighed. That King was nothing right now, but she would be a good ruler with time. And she could control the Electric Eye.
The only reason that this place remained sovereign, Azure guessed, was because he supplied a lot of iron. The Lussa went through iron as fast as they got it, so while his wasn’t needed, it did serve to speed up progress. And, the celestials worked the mines for free.
Azure said her goodbyes and headed south, past the dwarves to the Eeversal caves. That was a creature she had been interested in for a while. She smiled, and waved to the dead expressions on her way out of town.
“What a busy old place this Underside is.”
